Blessed and on My Way to Success

I am an Accounting major and the program at Stetson University molds you into becoming a successful accountant and prepares you for the CPA examination. The facilities are beautiful & "Green/Leed" Certified! There are so many opportunities to apply for internships/jobs while attending school, in which it prepares you for after graduation!! The workload & curriculum are moderate, but it is your choice on how you manage your time. I am blessed to be a part of this institution and look forward to see where my future of success takes me. I am also glad that the accounting program mentors and prepares you into going right into the Macc Program after graduation. I would recommend Stetson University to everyone no matter what their major is!

Family Feeling for All

Stetson University is the #1 Private Universities in the State of Florida. As a transfer student who is not only a minority, but also an older student, I am pleased of the great diversity on campus compared to the past statistics. There are so many student organizations from religion to sexual orientation. Though there may still be a "few" students who are not supportive, majority of the student population is supportive and accepting of the diversity and challenges that come across our every day lives. From the administration to the employees, there is a great amount of cultural differences, ethnic backgrounds, but it is a "family" feeling on campus. I feel this is of great importance for someone who is a minority and older!!

Not What I Expected

I am from a tropical island where the weather on an average is 90+ degrees year round!! So, the weather here on campus is really not what I expected it to be in Florida, at least this part!! I am an island girl and this is definitely not island weather! It is hot, warm, cool and extremely cold!! So, now I must invest in clothing for "cold" weather!!! It is horrible when your transportation is walking to campus!!
