Does NU offer any kind of early assurance to medical schools?

You mean for undergraduates getting into medical schools? You can apply for HPME, a BS/MD program that is seven years between undergrad and grad at Northwestern, but other than that I don't think so.

There is actually a Medical School Early Assurance Program that juniors would apply. They take only 5-6 students a year for spots in Feinberg School of Medicine. Hope that helps!

I am an honors and AP student with a 3.9 GPA, no SAT or ACT scores yet, I am a varsity soccer player and I accompany the chorus and the orchestra on the piano. Also, I volunteer at a nursing home. Am I on the right track and is there anything else I should be doing?

Get at least a 34 on your Act's!! If you look at the # of applicants and the # of open spaces, the test scores are the main drivers.

Looks pretty good to me, just make sure you're challenging yourself!

i had basically all that (4.5w GPA, 3.98uw), 2050 on the SAT, 3 5s on APs, strong extracirreculars (+200 hrs of service), and i got rejected

I am a highschool sophomore. I want to go to school to be an orthopedic surgeon and I get mostly A's with the occasional B in honors and AP classes. Northwestern is my top choice but am I overshooting? if not how do I go about showing my interest?

More will need to be known about your overall career in high school. Only a pretty good GPA won't get you into any upper lever universities.

GPA, test scores, essays and extra-curricular activities.

Show passion for whatever you do, and you'll be better off.

Also, try to do your best next year, as junior year is the most important for colleges to look at. Take top-level classes at your high school.

You're doing fine. Just maintain your grades while doing what you love. Take on some more leadership in school and clubs. Do some community service. In junior year, start preparing for the standardized tests so that you have plenty of time.

And try to gain some experience in the field you want to pursue. That really helps.

i had all As in all honors and AP classes, plus good scores and extracirreculars. I was rejected
