Computers at Pomona College

A

Computer Labs are OK

computer labs are okay, but printing can be difficult at times since the machines run out of ink. the internet access here is unbelievably fast(once went at 1000mb/sec but usually 500mb/sec) and reliable. wireless access is available almost everywhere. most people bring their own computers, so labs usually aren't full.

Transportation at Pomona College

A

Transportation

bus, metrolink, zipcars available. don't really need cars, so most people don't bring them and just use zipcars, which are really nice.

Local Atmosphere at Pomona College

B

Claremont Village

Claremont Village is a nice but sleepy town. The shops close pretty early, around 8 or 9pm, and the prices are a bit high. For a collegetown, it's a bit too quiet, and the residents of the Village are mostly elderly.

Academics at Pomona College

A+

International Relations

Pomona has a great international relations department, and the Claremont Colleges Consortium offers great opportunities. For example, I was able to spend a semester working on an internship in Washington DC through Claremont McKenna College next door.

Majors at Pomona College

A+

International Relations

The faculty is supportive and helpful. The workload is very manageable, and the requirements are relevant and yet vague enough to give you some flexibility. I was able to intern at the office of a senator at DC, and it was a eye-opening experience.
