Constantly Updated for Science/Engineer Students
The Union College facilities are great--if you're an engineering student. Union is an engineering school, and a liberal arts school second. Many of the social sciences have lost their residences because there simply isn't room for them, pushing them to many random buildings across campus. The engineering students have everything at their disposal, and it seems that the college updates buildings only for those students.

Very Good Quality
Whether you choose to live in one of the Union-owned off campus houses or one of the very cheap houses rented through others, the houses are really nice and not far off of campus at all. It's a very nice option for upperclassmen.

Hot, but Don't Look for Love
Your typical guy is a jock who's driven by the fraternity scene, similar to the girls. The girls are your typical suburban, sweatshirt and ugg-wearing girls with scarves and expensive bags. The guys and girls love to party and have random hook-ups, which is good if you're not looking for anything serious. But don't expect to find respectable relationships on campus.

Good, but Not Great
The quality of the teachers makes up for the less desirable aspects of the academics at Union. It's difficult to get every class you want because you only have 3 classes from which to choose, and they aren't always available every term. The curriculum is pretty widespread and eclectic, and registration makes it pretty easy to get most classes you want to get. The workload is manageable if you're timely. We have a few special study options and they're definitely great if you can get a hold of them. But, compared to the science and engineering courses, the courses aren't the greatest in the social sciences, which is definitely a downside to Union.

Not Great
There aren't many options off campus. Most things are accessible by foot and they're okay, but not much to rave about. The best food off campus is Bombers, but that's not surprising considering it was set up FOR Union students. It was started by a Union graduate and has been very successful in the area. Off-campus dining is better accomplished if students go off to Albany or the surrounding cities.

Need Is Met
They give you what you get and you appreciate it. They usually meet full need, but not too many people get a ton of financial aid outside of merit.
