So Much Delicious Food to Choose from.
Leave campus in any direction and you will find great food. Bronxville has a huge selection of restaurants with a range of specialties. Lange's has amazing deli sandwiches, Il Bacio has the best gnocchi you'll ever have, and Wild Ginger makes a mean Pad Thai. Late night? Order from the Argonaut in Yonkers as late as 2am. No shortage of off campus food options, from cheap to expensive.

Plenty to Choose from.
I've lived off campus for two years now and couldn't be happier about it. There are a ton of apartments within walking distance to campus, plus, if you live in Bronxville you can take advantage of the shuttle that runs from the train station to Westlands Gate. There is no trade off in living off campus - it's very easy to stay involved in campus life. Parking isn't great, so I leave my car on campus, but it's only a 10 minute walk.

Easy, but Potentially Far.
The main lots near inner campus are reserved for faculty and staff during the daytime, so you have to leave your car in Kober which is relatively distant from classes and food (10 minute walk, tops). On the plus side, I have never had any trouble finding a parking spot - I've never even seen the lot full. The only reason I bring my car is so I can drive the four hours home when I need. Other than that, everything is within walking distance. You'll find that a car is only needed very rarely.

Totally Safe
Generally speaking, you'll always feel totally safe on campus. Many students leave their possessions out all the time and you only hear of theft once or twice a year. Security does a good job of keeping campus free of anyone who shouldn't be there.

Not Your Average Dorm...
There are so many different kinds of housing at SLC. The Old Dorms (MacCracken, Dudley Lawrence, Titsworth, and Gilbert) have beautiful hardwood floors in every room and each room is a different layout. You can group petition and have an entire Andrews Court unit with just your friends. Hill House offers apartment style living with kitchens and living rooms. If you're lucky you can even be one of the few students who gets a Hill House single with its own private bathroom.
