Miami Plan...To Make You Well Rounded?
Miami Plan is the main curriculum that Miami University uses to ensure that their students are well rounded upon graduation. It's great in theory! Make students take classes so they can learn about a wide range of topics. The fact of the matter is that the Miami Plan interferes greatly with classes that need to be taken for your major. There are so many credits that are required for the Miami Plan that it also makes graduating in 4 years seem difficult at times.

Go Uptown If You Dare
I have only gone uptown for parties a couple times because it is not really my scene but when I have gone out to the clubs, they are generally pretty crowded. It's only 5 bucks to get in which is reasonable and the music is good. Also, there is no age limit for the clubs so everyone can get in. Personally, I like to spend nights hanging out with my friends away from the clubs because it is just too much crazy for a girl like me!

Student Teaching
I haven't had to do this yet but many of my friends have already gone through the process and the school does a very good job of taking care of you. If there is a certain school you want to student teach in, you can make a case and most likely get placed in that school. Student teaching abroad is also an option and the teachers are very flexible. As long as you can set up a way to communicate with your supervisor while student teaching, they will make sure it happens as well. For example, skyping with a teacher makes it possible to student teach abroad.
