Hey guys,I recently got accepted to OU and was wondering what type of Dorm living is best for freshmen class?

Quads - Cate

Quads - Academic Arts Community

Towers - Adams, Walker, and Couch

Recreational and Academic areas within the residence hall.

Please let me know and what type of meal plan would you guys recommend? I am a vegetarian btw...

TOWERS. no contest. if you eat a lot, get the regular one. if not get a smaller one.

I would say the towers. That is where I live and it is the best way to get to know many people.

One more question- but i don't want a double bunk bed! Do i get an option to not get a room with bunk beds?

Towers- Walker or Couch if you can manage. However, Adams just put in a new Raising Canes. The towers in Adams aren't connected though so that can be a tad frustrating. All rooms have an option not to have bunk beds. You can get your bed lofted or not, just request it with Housing and Food. Get the meal plan with more points than exchanges.

You can have your bed bunked (one bed on top of another), lofted (bed at the height of the top of a bunk bed, with no bed underneath, leaves room for desk or something) or regular (I had my bed regular & had like 3 feet under it for storage) I think if you want it a certain way there is a deadline to submit the request to have it done by the time you get there, you can always submit a request if you decide you want it changed later.

Is moving a 32" TV to the Dorms a good idea?

I am currently in the process of buying a TV and have decided to buy a 32 inch tv. Now, is it really good idea to move a TV into a freshman dorm since i am worried about not enough space to place it. The main thing is was going to buy a tv was for playing my ps3...Let me know if it is a good idea or not?

My opinion, no its not a good idea. Having a TV in the dorm room leads to a bigger chance of not getting out of the room, which means not experiencing what the dorm community has to offer. There are community TV's in the dorms.

The main point of being in a dorm is to meet people with having a tv in your dorm you, it would be a reason for you not to go out and meet new people..

A 32" TV is probably a little too large for the dorms, unless you loft your bed. Then, you could put the TV below your bed and have plenty of room.

I don't think it's a good idea. Most dorms don't have enough space to fit a TV in them.

If you are going to mount it to the wall, then it will be fine. But I personally will recommend smaller TV.

You may want to get a smaller TV. However, if you happen to have a desktop computer, use the TV as the monitor and leave the regular monitor at home. This will help you save space and make things a lot more convenient.

Yes, there should be enough room in your dorm to store it. They provide dressers that you could place the tv on if you needed to.

It will take up a lot of space but many people bring TVs that size. It is manageable.

Housing space is limited but if you organize well the tv size should not be a problem.

You can put it on top of the desk but it might take up a lot of room. Stacking the shelves might help but then it takes up a lot of room if your bed isn't lofted.

It depends which dorms you are going to stay. Check the size of the room. Most dorms are very small. especially the towers.

THANKS GUYS!! AFTER LOOKING AT SUCH GREAT ADVICES, I HAVE DECIDED TO NOT TAKE THE TV UNTILL I GET AN APARTMENT! THANKS FOR THE INPUT!
