Campus Dining at Haverford College

B+

Small, but Many Convenient Off Campus Options

The DC is the only dining center on campus, and although that sounds limited, it is actually pretty great because a lot of the campus eats together, and at such a small school, it is a great place to meet people. You will always find someone you know to eat with. The options are limited, not the most wonderful, but they're not bad and there are a lot of vegetarian and healthy options, as well as "cook it yourself" omelettes and stir fry, which are convenient. It's not open all the time (only certain hours and closes by 8) but it's fine. Sunday brunch is a wonderful thing. The Coop is great for late night food and breakfast. It is cheap and the food is pretty good, and there's tons of pre-made stuff there too. Off campus (like right across the street), there is a Wawa, Chipotle, McDonalds, Subway, multiple good pizza places, Indian food, Chinese, Japanese, and within walking distance, there are so many options on Lancaster Ave. Also, the meal plan works at Bryn Mawr as well, which is convenient for when classes are taken there or when you just want good food (their food is wonderful). In the apartments, there are full kitchens in each, and many students cook their own meals.

Off-Campus Dining at Haverford College

A+

So Many Options

Along Lancaster Ave, where many other colleges are situated as well, there are many great and price-friendly restaurants off campus. The whole street is lined with 3 miles of restaurants and convenience stores. The most popular places that Haverpeople go to are the Chinese/Japanese resturant, Chipotle, Peace a Pizza, Ardmore Pizza, Indian food, etc. Anything you could imagine, exists. There are more upscale restaurants as well, which are normally filled with residents of the Main Line, not just college kids. Anything you could want, probably exists within walking distance of HC.

Athletics at Haverford College

A

Very Accessable

A large portion of Haverpeople are involved in sports, and that is what it is about here, being involved and being active. It is a very active and athletic campus, although we are only D3. Students get involved in sports to have some good exercise, meet new people, stay in shape, and have fun. Our teams are not the best, but very accessible to become a part of. On club teams (and even a few varsity teams) there will be a range of people, those who have never even played the sport before, to those who were their high school's MVP's. There's a ton of school spirit and the GIAC (gym) is in the center of campus and is pretty new. Athletics are a big part of the social life at Haverford, and can be anything from barely any commitment to 90% of your life here. It's a great scene to become involved with.
