Campus Dining at Duquesne University

B

The Off-Ramp

The Off Ramp used to have a lot better options than they currently do. You are limited to burgers, fries, crappy pizza and sub sandwiches. Not bad, but they took away some of the best food like the gyros, turkey sandwhiches, pitas, and others.

Off-Campus Housing at Duquesne University

C

Limited Housing Options

If you don't want to live on campus after sophomore year, which you probably don't, make sure to look early, like before winter break. Most places in South Side are much cheaper than living on campus, but also are mostly 2-3 bedroom houses. Not the nicest area, but South Side has great night life. You'll have fun there, but be careful when walking around alone at night.

Transportation at Duquesne University

C

Loop Buses Are Great

The weekend loop buses are a very convenient way to get to Oakland and South Side. They are super over-crowded with drunk freshman, but you really have no other choice unless you want to walk.

Health & Safety at Duquesne University

B+

Police

The Duquesne University Police, or "DuPo" are always around and available. They're friendly and willing to help. Campus always feels safe although its located directly next to Pittsburgh's Hill district.

Athletics at Duquesne University

C-

Lack of Enthusiasm

Since we don't have the greatest football team, no one, and I mean no one, attends the games. Basketball games can be pretty fun though, especially the city game against Pitt and others held in the Consol Energy Center. Make sure to join the "Red and Blue Crew."

Scholarships at Duquesne University

B+

Generous Scholarship

I think mostly everyone receives the $10,000 scholarship. Tuition is high, but being a private school, this scholarship can help bring the price down to a public school level.
