A Quiet Suburb With LA Access
Claremont is a really cute town, and much nicer than the surrounding area. The downtown area is small but sufficient and there are lots of shops and eateries that cater to the college crowd. It can be a little expensive, but there are deals if you look around. The school really supports students in getting off campus (into LA and elsewhere) with an organization called CAP, which subsidizes everything from food to concerts to themepark tickets.

Very Safe, Just Be Responsible
The only real problem we have is theft, which generally occurs when people leave things outside and unsecured. Campus Safety is generally very helpful in supporting a positive environment.

Lots of Variety
There are 5 colleges, with each college having at least one dining hall, as well as some sort of store. Needless to say, this makes it pretty easy to get some variety. People learn which dining halls they like for which meals and tend to follow a pattern; for example, the sandwich bar at lunch at Pitzer is amazing, while the Mudd dining hall's best meal is breakfast.
