There really isn't anything there. There's no where around where you can go out to get a meal safely or anything, no fancy restaurants either. There really isn't anything to do outside of campus unless you have a car, then you can go places within like 20 minutes

If You Like to Remember Your Nights, It Sucks
You can't drink at any of the frats unless you're 21. It's also very hard to get in so if you're not one of the pretty, slutty girls.. good luck. The school doesn't provide anything for you to go to, so other than frats there's nothing to do. Nightlife is EXTREMELY boring.

As bad as Hartford is, the school still does very little for transportation. There is a shuttle, but it takes forever to come, often doesn't run, and only takes you to limited places. The shuttle also only drives you around campus, it won't take you off. The school won't drive you at certain times to places no matter how badly you need to get there. Also, if you can't get driven somewhere walking really isn't an option since the area around campus is incredibly dangerous. (There are often muggings and threats with knives/guns on campus cause there's no gate and people walk in but that's another story.)
