All in All Nice

You can literally walk across the campus in 5 minutes which is very convenient for classes. The dorm rooms are pretty spacious with very few problems. I live in Tinker which is nice if you want a more active community. Randolph is the other option for First Year housing. It doesn't have air conditioning but it's nice if you prefer a smaller scene. There are also specialty houses which first years can apply to by the end of their first semester at Hollins. I'm planning to move onto Otaku Hall during J-Term. Otaku is a place where fans of anime, manga, sci-fi, video games, history, literature, and fantasy hang out. It's a nice and warm atmosphere where we treat each other like family. There's also Nefa for the arts, Sandusky for community service, French House, Spanish House, and Carvin International House.

I Don't See It but I Know It's There

I don't know very many people who do drugs on campus. From what I have heard, drinking is pretty prevalent at parties though. There are however options for people who want to avoid the party scene. There are "Wellness Halls" available to students. Wellness Halls are dorm communities where people sign a contract saying that they refuse to use any substances while on or off campus.
