Safety

The campus is fairly safe. There are blue emergency lights everywhere. Campus crime does happen, but nothing serious.

Binghamton Summary

Binghamton has a decent academic program where you will sometimes encounter a very intelligent, passionate professor. There is a convenient career center. Everything else is less than mediocre. Social scene is very limited and campus facilities/beauty is horrendous. The local atmosphere, weather, and student body leaves much to be desired. Every once in a while you will find politically active and smart students, but a lot of students are ignorant to current events and not academically interested. They are more interested in working a mediocre job after graduation and earning a mediocre salary. Basically the school is mediocre and yet prides itself on being "the best SUNY". No one outside of New York State knows Binghamton University, and even if they do, don't regard it as an impressive or challenging school. Reputation is important, Binghamton has none. If you want a promising education that truly challenges you, motivates you to be better, and helps you grow while meeting amazing people and truly learning, DO NOT go to this school.
