Beautiful Weather
I'm from NJ and the weather in Winston-Salem is absolutely gorgeous. It was 70 degrees before Thanksgiving this year yet all my friends from Florida and California love that there are seasons. You do have snow but classes tend to get cancelled very easily for a little amount of snow which balances out the downside of cold weather.

Computers
You get a laptop upon entry freshman year and then another one junior year. They are standard thinkpads with a camera built in. Some people use their macs but I don't think the thinkpads are that bad. The network is usually pretty good especially in the library. Most people buy a printer but you can also print easily in the library. There are also computers in the library for use but there is definitely an expectation to have a laptop.

Beautiful People
Everyone on this campus is beautiful...it's rare to see an overweight person as well. The typical student is the typical overachiever who is completely stressed during the week but then everyone cuts loose on Wake Wednesdays and the weekend which makes up for the high pressure academically. There is a mix of Southern and Northern brands but definitely buy cowboy boots and bring sundresses/buttondowns and ties for tailgates!
