Best Technology
The whole campus is equipped with high-speed wireless internet. Each library has an multiple computer labs with all the necessary printers, scanners, and media equipment for academic and personal work. Reliability has never been an issue. Printing under 30 pages at the Biomedical library is free of charge. Everywhere else it is roughly 5 cents per sheet.
The tech centers are more than helpful as well.

Tolerant, to a Point
Vanderbilt is extremely tolerant- to a point. When that point is crossed, prepare to be made an example. Greek life is rampant with alcohol festivities, dorm parties are acceptable and rage respectively, but when there understood-unspoken agreements between the school and students-responsibility for safety and fun- are broken, the school punishes with the utmost severity. They expect their students to maintain responsibility for their behaviors. They expect students to experiment and have fun, but not at any liable expense on their behalf.

Amazing Aid
This school has hands down the smoothest financial aid process of any I have come across. You fill out and submit appropriate forms, and, within a few weeks, you get a letter detailing your eligibility for a ton of money. AND- it's money that you don't have to pay back. GANGSTA money.

Gals and Guys
While there are many nuances, there are two main types of girls and guys that come to mind. Greek and non-greek. The majority of girls are beautiful and breathtaking, intelligent and charming. The Greek girls happen to get swept up in the superficial greek life and lose a lot of that intelligent and charming appeal. The guys are usually smart and articulate overall. The greek guys seem to lose these attribute while they're submersed in greek life, and come off as loud, obnoxious, testosterone pumping juveniles. Fortunately they outgrow that, as most do, and come into their own. Everyone is smart. Guys are alright. Girls are all stellar.
High brow Southern culture and style is prevailing and hard to escape. There is definitely a prevailing and subtle pressure to keep up with appearances.

Greek Life Is a+
Even though Vanderbilt is cracking down on the Greek scene's prevalent alcohol and party privileges, it still maintains a ridiculously lax scene for anyone to get their rage on. At any given time, about half of Greek life is on probation for some arbitrary violation (underage drinking, Greek policy violations like 'hazing', which is totally relative and up to the school's interpretation, however innocent) so the school can flex its muscles.
When you are in the Greek scene you are totally wrapped up in it and you can't imagine a world where much of anything else going on. The vice versa is true as well. If you aren't in the Greek scene, you hardly know it's there and you're life isn't affected in the least. Freshman year is the only year you feel that pressure. As a note- it IS possible to maintain friendships and activities in both worlds. It's just difficult to juggle.
