So Many Choices
There are so many options for off-campus dining. There are literally restaurants every where. Just off-campus on MT. Hope you can find every major fastfood place and right down the road in Henrietta you can find common chains such as Olive Garden, Applebees, and Friendlies. But if you ask any native Rochestarian they'll direct you to Tahou's for a Garbage Plate, or to Jay's Diner for breakfast and a milkshake at 2 in the morning.

Not a Big Athletic School
The athletic facilities are fantastic and are often used. Its common to see a full weight room, people swimming laps in the pool, or throwing a ball around on the football field. What is uncommon however is to people attending varsity sporting events. Sometimes its hard for the football team to even get 100 people in the stands. The school spirit is there its just channeled into things other than sports.

Parking
Parking at the University of Rochester is most definitely something to be frowned upon, there just isn't enough available. Parking is not available to freshmen and most other student parking is located a half mile from campus. And the parking guys are so sneaky, you cant leave your car in an area its not suppose to be in for two minutes with out getting a ticket.

I Use to Work for Security
I use to work for security and there was times at 3 in the morning that I was patrolling campus and felt a little sketched out. The security guards are very friendly and helpful and can always escort you across campus if you want but the proximity to Rochester means that sometimes there people on campus that shouldn't be.

Buses Are the Best Option
Buses are constantly running for all of the day and late into the night, plus they go everywhere. For long distance travel you could take the bus, or a train, but the airport is right around the corner and is very convenient.

Great Experience
So far my experience at U of R has been fantastic. I really love the people and feel as if this is my home. I would 100% chose to go here again if i had the choice.

As a Native Rochesterian
As a native Rochesterian I can find tons of things to do in Rochester and am contently dragging my friends along with me. There are a ton of concerts and bars if your looking for a night out on the town. And during the day you can go to one of the 3 near by malls or one of the countless shopping centers.

No Pressure
Drugs are definitely available everywhere but there is no pressure to try them if you do not want to. The most common drugs are alcohol and pot but if you ask around you can find coke and ecstasy.

Work Hard Party Hard
I love the personality of the school. Most people think that since we are such are competitive school that we're all a bunch of nerds (which might be true) but let me tell you when the works done these nerds know how to party!

Heavy Work Loads
Engineering programs at the U of R are not for the faint of heart. The work load is very heavy and will challenge you but in the end you will feel like you come out more knowledgeable and ahead of your peers at other schools.

Plenty of Options
Unfortunately they are not all great options. Your choices are either extremely cheap run down apartments or overly priced nicer ones. Its better just to live on campus.

Acceptance Is the Thing
In my opinion I find U of R very diverse and the thing that surprises me most about that is how well people get along. Everyone is very accepting of people of other races, backgrounds, religions, and even sexual orientation.
