Slow Decline
ISU was a place where I would have recommended people go until about 2006. With the new president, Arthur Valias, the school has sadly been going into decline.
I was in the history program. At the time I went there was a focus on US history of World history. I chose world history to study since the US is so new to history. This side of the program has been shrinking.
The curriculum varies from professor to professor, but over all the work load is acceptable and the classes are not too large. Internships opportunities are non existent and I worked as a TA for credits since they could not afford to give me a paid stipend. I have heard this has become more of an issue.

Campus Apartments
I lived in University Courts at ISU. They were not the best because they were small and I could not imagine sharing the area with someone, but they are convenient to get to classes and it is nice to have campus security driving by as a single woman. The cost was a little steep, but getting to them after being a sophomore was easy.
