I Spent All My Money on Pizza
Bellagio's is open until 2am on weekdays, Milano's till 12am. They're both fantastic, although I prefer Bellagio's. Sal's in the South Side is best experienced in person; the restaraunt has a lot of character, and when I've had it delivered its not as good. The Chinese places near campus (China Star is better than China Wok) close by 10, unfortunately.
Piper's Pub in the Southside has great food and its not generic bar fare. Also if you're seated for dinner and you act like adults, they may not card you.

Not Especially Diverse
I don't think the university should pursue diversity for its own sake, but the attitudes of the some of the other students, specifically towards homosexuals and Jews, was disturbing. Coming from a major east coast city, I was surprised at some of the slurs I heard. I guess to an extent its immaturity, but I'd hope as a Catholic going to a Catholic school my tradition would stick to its namesake.

Nice, but Not a Major Component of Student Life
It's nice to have it, but I've never been a huge sports guy. There is a really solid amount of support for the basketball team, but unfortunately a lot of other men's sports got cut because of Title IX (not trying to hate on women's sports).
The intramurals are especially competitive, so most of the time I just play pick-up games with friends and strangers.
