There Aren't Many Activities
There are a few colleges in this area, but not enough recreational activities available for college students, or young adults. A lot of the students in my college often go to parties during the weekends and engage in illegal or unsafe activities, like underage drinking. Of course, there are things to do around here, like going to the movies and indoor ice skating. But it's repetitive and gets boring. For freshmen students that come from another state, like myself, it is very fun and exciting to go to places like these with your new friends, but after a semester or two, it gets boring.
Also, everything in the city is far away from each other, and far from campus. You either have to own a car, or be very patient and take the bus.

Lots of Affilitations
There is a small market area in front of our school that has a few restaurants. Some of these places can be paid for with our own cash, or with cash that we can put on our student IDs, which can also be used as a credit card. There is also a supermarket and a couple of fast food places on the blocks right next to campus. The most popular place with students, is a cold sandwich shop that delivers until 3:00am. The next most visited place is a diner right across the campus that is open 24 hours a day.
The most convenient place though, is the supermarket, which is also open 24 hours.

Public Bus Is Free but Doesn't Come Often
With our school ID we can get on the public bus for free, but it doesn't pass by campus very often, and also stops passing by completely at an early time. It also doesn't go very far, I believe the furthest it travels is downtown. There was recently a new stop added at Wal-Mart, which is far from campus and a popular and useful place for students. We often carpool to go to Wal-Mart.
