Public Safety Is Alright
The campus itself is safe but outside of the school it can get crazy. Within my first three months at the school, I received at least 5 e-mails from Public Safety warning us about a student getting mugged walking around Queens near the school. They are strict with the drugs and alcohol but people still do it easily.

Pretty Great Housing
The freshmen dorms are HUGE. I was expecting to be all cramped up but nah. These rooms are big. Three twin beds, three desks with three chairs, three pieces of furniture for clothes, and a closet. In my room we took down the bunk bed and have our three beds as single and there's still a lot of room. For freshmen I most definitely recommend St. Vincent's Hall.

Typical New York Weather
I'm from Southern California and so I thought I would have a great amount of difficulty adjusting to the cold weather but it really hasn't been that bad. It's November 25th and I can still walk outside with my football shorts and a pullover and be fine. However it hasn't snowed yet sooooo yeah. Overall the weather hasn't affected me at all.
