The Bubble on the Hill
"The college on the hill" is located in Hanover, New Hampshire, a town that basically consists of Dartmouth College plus a main street. Despite its size, students find that Hanover offers a surprising variety of charming local restaurants, a farmer's market in the spring, free weekday shuttles to neighboring towns like West Lebanon, and some of the best gelato in the country. There is no nightlife, but Dartmouth's Greek scene more than makes up for it, and Boston and NYC are Dartmouth Coach bus rides away.

The World at Your Fingertips
I plan to declare my major in Biology, with a concentration in Ecology. I have struggled through the typical science major 'weeder' classes such as the introductory Bio 11 and the intro chemistry sequence, but it all gets better from here. With higher-division courses come fascinating subject material such as Vertebrate Zoology, professors who know your name and invite you to assist them with their research, interesting labs, and classmates passionate about the same things you are. Whether you are on a pre-med track or simply have an interest in Ecology, Organismal Biology, or Genetics, Dartmouth's Biological Sciences department has a wide range of academic and research opportunities such as the Foreign Study Program in Costa Rica.
