I am a perspective student, I was wondering about the availability of internships through studying at AUP?

Also what is the best and worst of AUP?

AUP has quite a few internship opportunities! I believe you can start doing internships your sophomore year, but don't hold me to that haha. As for Best and worst of AUP? I personally love how AUP is a small and personal university that is in the heart of one of the oldest and most beautiful city in France (arguably Europe). Also, it is a very diverse school offering many opportunities to learn about other people and other cultures! However, the tuition can be a bit of a draw back. As well as cost of living in Paris depending on your financial situation. For example, I have a room mate because we both wanted a bigger apartment so we put together our budgets that way we could have a nicer apartment to live in rather than paying for a chamber de bonne individually. So there are ways to work around the price :) Let me know if I didn't answer your question the way you wanted it answered and I will try my best to answer what you would like to know! :D

Thanks so much for the very informed answer.

Where do you think you employability stands with a degree from AUP?

Well with attending AUP you already have a foot in the door, if only because employers are curious about how or why you studied in Paris! So that would be a plus, not only that but it also shows that you are capable of not only being on your own, but living in a foreign country by yourself and are able to get things done. And like I previously said, they have many internship opportunities, more than any of the other colleges I looked at, plus you would definitely have better opportunities for internships being in Europe in general. For instance, you could have the possibility of interning in Geneva Switzerland (actually they offered an internship in Geneva last semester so I am not pulling this out of thin air) which may give you the leg up over someone who interned in New York City! What do you think your major would be?

I've applied for entrepreneurship, what sort of companies does AUP have relationships with for internships?

Here is a link to some of the bigger companies AUP has internships with! If this link does not work tell me and I will try to fix it! :)

http://www.aup.edu/main/studentlife/careerdevelopment/internship_program/network.htm

It doesn't appear to be working.

hmmm, well I tried copying the page itself but that apparently did not work so I have to walk you through step by step to find the page :( Hope it isn't too inconvenient!

First go to aup.edu and time in internships into the search bar

Then click the second link to appear

Once the page loads, on the left side under Internship Programs click employer network, and viola!

Thank you very much for your time!

No problem! And if you have or come up with anymore questions just let me know!

How did you find making friends, since there is no res?

Well to get to know everyone, AUP sat up a Facebook page for us all to get to know each other. It is really helpful in bringing everyone together (since everyone is from different areas and countries) so you get to meet a lot of people even before orientation. Plus since AUP is such small university, everyone is like family!

I've heard that a lot of people stay for just one year , is that true?

A lot of people go there for study abroads, but a lot stay to earn their degrees at AUP as well. It really just depends on how you handle culture shock and living in a foreign country. I personally am staying for the four years to earn my bachelors :)
