The "Suite" Life

I chose to live in a dorm that has two connected rooms that share a bathroom -- 2 to a room, 4 to a bathroom. That has worked out pretty well although there have been some personality clashes in my suite. My goal for next year is to find housing off campus but close enough so that I can still walk to classes. Baylor has several "off campus" apartments that are still basically part of the campus and are very cost efficient.

Friends at Baylor

Making friends at Baylor has been very easy. It is a very friendly campus and people go out of their way to be helpful, even to the lowly freshman! Don't even get me started about the girls -- they are awesome.

Off Campus Living

There are several options for off campus living and some options are even less expensive than living in the dorm. One of the definite pros for living off campus is extra space and more privacy. One great thing that some of the apartment complexes offer is individual leases, which means that in a 4 bedroom - 4 bath apartment, there are 4 separate leases and each tenant is only responsible for his or her own lease. If someone moves out it does not affect the other tenant's rent. I think this is a great system that could potentially put the TV court shows out of business.

Transportation

Many students bring cars to campus but there is usually always someone willing to give others a ride if they need it. There are also shuttle buses that run from campus to off campus housing and to shopping centers in Waco for those who need it. There is, however, no long distance transportation offered.

AF-ROTC

I love the Air Force ROTC program at Baylor. Any program that has me up for Physical Training at 6:30 am without complaining has to be something that I love to do. My plan is to major in Applied Math and minor in Astrophysics and have a career in the Air Force.
