Not Many Complaints
For being such a large school, UNLV does a great job providing computers for the population of undergrads, grad students, and professors. You can usually find a computer at Lied, even around mid-terms and finals, and the computers are fast and reliable for the most part. There are many print stations so you never really find yourself waiting to print.

The WRC and Lied Are Top-Notch
The Wellness and Recreation Center and Lied Library are probably my favorite facilities on campus. Lied is massive and always has a place to study, whether you like to study on the first floor among the commotion or the third floor in absolute silence. The WRC is equipped with more than enough machines and features group exercise classes, an outdoor adventures center, and a clinic.

Mostly Students from the Las Vegas Valley
Racially UNLV is very diverse, but as most students are from Las Vegas high schools the school tends to lack diversity in upbringing.

Maryland Parkway Is a Shady Place.
Not going to lie-- I do not feel safe after dark on campus. I barely ever see the campus police, and as the school is located only five minutes away from the Las Vegas strip, you never know who could be lurking around the corner. I would suggest not taking too many night classes or parking that far away from a class you leave after dark.

Basketball Is Everything
As far as athletics goes, the UNLV Rebel Basketball Team is everything. If you like attending sporting events, UNLV basketball games cannot be beat. You barely ever hear about any of the other sports on campus though, including the football team.

A Little Underwhelming..
If you are looking for a school that will give you a degree, UNLV is the place. However, if you are looking for a place that will open your eyes and make you excited about your education, this is not the place. The majority of the undergraduate students are in-state kids who never really got excited about school but knew that their parents wanted them to go to college and get a degree. It's a commuter campus so making friends is difficult. Most people drive to school, go to class, then go directly home. One plus is definitely the cost. It is extremely affordable, especially for those with a Millennium Scholarship, and in hard economic times you can definitely get a degree for a bargain here. It just isn't the complete university experience.
