Weather at Miami University

B

Weather Better Than Expected

Walking in the cold, and sometimes windy conditions can be annoying. However, there are busses that run all the time and Miami does a good job of clearing the sidewalks (many are heated). When the weather is decent, which is usually most of the first semester and the latter half of the second, a lot of people go outside and partake in a variety of outdoor events.

Overall Experience at Miami University

A

Absolutely Love It Here

Miami is an amazing place to learn, have fun, and hang out. Dorm life is vibrant, people are generally accepting and kind, and there is so much to do! As a freshman, I was able to get involved in many clubs and try out many things unavailable to me in high school. On the weekends, there are always plenty of people to hang out with in the dorms, but there are a ton of parties and clubs to go to uptown as well. Meeting new friends was easier than expected and a good experience.

Computers at Miami University

A-

Good Service

Computers are almost always available in the many labs and printing is relatively cheap at the libraries and print centers around campus. Internet is good overall-- a super high speed internet connection is now available for a fee as well.

Parking at Miami University

B

Parking Can Be a Hassle.

Freshmen have to park about a half mile away from campus, and there is not too much parking within the campus for the upperclassmen. However, busses run to and from all of the lots and parking should not be a problem if planned accordingly. Finding spots on weekends is never a problem.

Inside Scoop at Miami University

A

Academics Are Top-Notch for Undergrads

Compared to what I hear from my friends at larger schools, Miami provides many outstanding opportunities for its undergraduate students. Classes are usually relatively small and even in my biggest freshmen class asking questions was encouraged. Professors are extremely approachable as well. They are willing to help you in your classes and will help you get involved in things such as research as well. Obtaining a research project with a professor my freshmen year was as easy as asking.
