Local Atmosphere at University of San Francisco

A

Always Something New to Do

There is so much to do in the city and USF is in the heart of it all. There are so many fantastic places to eat and variety of types of food is vast. There are always fu touristy things to do like museums and sight seeing. Safety is a little sketchy at times, but if you don't act like a tourist you should be okay.

Campus Dining at University of San Francisco

C+

Good Meal Plan, Bad Variety

Since USF is a small school there is only one big cafeteria and two little market like dining options. The way the meal plan works is excellent since you just pay for each thing you want to eat (opposed to a certain number of swipes or meals). The bad part is there is little variety. Lunch is pretty decent since there is the salad station, sandwich station, salad bar, specials, but by dinner all you have left is pizza, burritos and food from the grill. It sucks if you are living on campus because the food gets tiring really fast. There also aren't that many healthy/vegan/vegetarian options for a school in the heart of San Francisco.

Campus Housing at University of San Francisco

B+

Pretty Decent

The freshman dorms aren't awful, but aren;t that great either. It gets really loud on weekends because lots of freshman like to go out and drink and have the "college experience" ad disturb everyone else. All of the dorms are hall style, which are sort of nice as a freshman, but also sort of annoying to share a bathroom with so many people. The sophomore option is much nicer (lone mountain). It is much quieter here and cleaner. It's also really expensive, and since USF is letting in more students harder to get housing after freshman year.
