Fair.
Vassar campus security can sometimes get a bad rap, but with a very limited number of exceptions, they have the student's best interests in mind. That being said, the atmosphere is changing and I think they are recalculating their approach to combating a perceived alcohol problem on campus. Only time will tell where that goes. It seems in recent times there has been a much stronger security emphasis, but with less of an emphasis of getting people in trouble \ writing them up and more of an emphasis on making sure everyone is behaving safely. I'm sure some people would disagree with me though.

It's Cold.
It snows A LOT here, but with the snow comes a certain quiet peace that I really like. Just come prepared. . .

Freedom If You Can Navigate Bureaucracy
My academic experience at vassar has been positive, and I've loved all my classes and professors. Vassar offers a certain freedom that is hard to find in education, but be prepared, the rigid bureaucracy of the administration can sometimes make that freedom excruciatingly difficult to achieve. I often find myself spending more time and effort justifying what I want to do than the work it would take to just do it.
