Too Busy

You'll be surprised how quickly you'll forget that Vassar does not extend to the ends of the earth. You get caught up in activities, so it's rare that you'll be venturing out into Poughkeepsie. There are opportunities for teaching at Poughkeepsie Day School and working with the prison initiative. There is also a mall, a drive-in, and a 24-hour diner.

Pretty People

The guys here are generally the smug hipster type, but to their credit they are funny. They play lots of video games and have strong opinions about their music. The girls are a bit more varied; they're cute, smart, funny, and they have their own style. Spirited debates often ensue between the sexes in which everything from altruism to Zach Galifianakis is discussed. This is an attractive campus all round.

Reefer Madness

Alcohol is a visible part of campus life, as with most American colleges. If you don't drink or do drugs, that is totally fine and you will find people that would like to remember their four years along with you. But make no mistake, people do drugs here. Mostly weed, but you do get the occasional shrooms, acid, x, molly, coke, 2ci, aderol, etc. Big parties tend to have a couple kegs and a forty rack of Natural Ice.
