A Great Experience. Living in the campus dorms changed me forever. I learned how to live in close proximity with people I didn't always necessarily get along with. I got to experience late nights full of fun, and full of homework as well. Living in the dorms forces one to depend on others to make their own fun. The campus apartments are very accommodating and spacious, and they are priced the same as the campus dorms. The campus housing at Olivet has served me well.
Students at ONU who desire to live off campus as an underclassmen must either live with a family member in the area, or create a fictional family member to tell the university they are living with. They don't allow off campus living due to their desire to retain students who conform to their promoted style of living in the campus dorms/apartments.
Made Me Grow. I love the people and the atmosphere that every single Olivet student has a chance to experience. All the classes I've had were challenging, and the faculty and staff truly care about the future of their students. I've made relationships that I'll keep for the rest of my life, and I feel more than prepared to enter into the workforce as a result of my education here. Some may complain about the strict rules and open house policies, but in all honesty those are menial issues.
The rules for who can park where and when on campus are not clearly stated or given in any form for students, and the fines are often arbitrary and excessive. In order to appeal a fine, students must first front the money for the fine, then wait multiple weeks before someone rejects the appeal. It's an incredibly flawed system and the Public Safety department seems to feel as if every student owes them a parking tax.
