Brown Keeps Itself up-To-Date
To be perfectly honest, Brown does a decent job at maintaining students happy when it comes to computing. There are several computer labs around campus, most of which offer both Macs and PCs as well as scanners for student use. All of them offer printing services; the neat thing is that all Brown students receive $30 in printing money for the school year, so you're well of for a while. However, there are some cons. Brown offers two wireless networks, Brown_EZ and Brown-Secure, both of which are extremely unreliable and relatively slow when compared to the networks at other schools. Furthermore, during finals period, overcrowding at the computer labs makes getting a computer very difficult and getting something printed almost impossible. I suggest that students purchase a personal computer and a printer, since they could be your only option during crunch time.

There's Always *Something* Going on
The nightlife definitely exists, so you'll find something to do if you really want to get out of your dorm. The frats on Wriston campus usually have parties every week during the first few weeks of the semester, and there's also a lot of dorm parties and house parties with free music and alcohol. The BroPo (Brown Police) is pretty chill, so as long as you keep the music low enough that it won't break your windows, you can pretty much party all night long. I can't say the same for the ProPo (Providence Police), though. They crack down most house parties, so underage drinkers beware. The club scene is mostly for students who are 21+. There are a few bars downtown, like Mirabar, that are 18+, so they're always an option if you wanna get off campus.

Gisps Are Awesome!
Group Independent Study Projects, or GISPs, allow students to get together with a faculty sponsor and make a class. Having the opportunity to plan out a semester course is a great learning experience for students and professors alike. Some of these classes, like the very popular Introduction to Neuroscience, have actually ended up becoming an integral of the Brown curriculum!
