University of Alabama Guys & Girls had a new discussion posted by johhny

I am debating whether to attend a college or university . I want to be someplace sunny and also wish to interact with girls. My options are totally open oh and are colleges better than universities as far as say ..dating. I am just taking general studies for credits btw

The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa is a warm, sunny interactive university with a nice compliment of girls to guys. The choice of college majors is excellent. The University is rich in history and athletically and academically superior,

I am going to look into that right now thank you for the response

University of Montevallo, just south of Birmingham, is majority girls.

Ole Miss has plenty of sun during the summer and fall months. Our diverse campus offers many chances to meet new friends and find potential dates. Be careful, however, as some sorority girls can come off as "hard to get."

Ole Miss would be a great school to attend if want to see a lot of hot girls. We're known for having some of the finest girls and in the freshman glass there is a 36:1 ratio of girls to boys. It is usually warm here, but it does get a little chilly.

Universities definitly have more options as far as girls go. My advice, just focus on studies, live the life you want to live and the person you want to be with will join you regardless of where you go.

ok thanks : )

It's nice that Dixie is smaller than a university. You seem to bump into people more often and it's easier to get to know people.

If you are not serious about obtaining a high quality college education, Dixie might be a good option. The classes are easy, tuition is affordable, the weather is nice, and people are laid-back.

don't go to college just for girls. focus on your education.

awh.. okie . its so hard though I cant seem to concentrate I keep thinking about girls

if your main interest is the dating life, maybe you should refocus

IF you want to date girls, this school and BYU is perfect for you. TONS of girls here are only looking for a husband...Trust me...I've met that kind of female

Lots of times we use them interchangeably, but there's a difference. Colleges tend to be smaller and more specific, where universities are generally larger and have more variety. Don't choose a school based solely on your prospects of dating! :) If you want a lot of variety and tons of people, choose a big school! I'll be an incoming freshman at NC State, and there is large student population. Visit schools and see what fits best for you. There's nothing wrong with smaller schools, either. You'll meet people wherever you go, if the school is right for you. Good luck! (:

Do you know if they offer a film production program ? What you said actually makes sense to me I should just get in and start interacting , my friends that are girls tell me i'm hot and get upset at me because ' I don't spend time with them ' or I am too cool lol . Im just not attracted to them and need to expand my circle of friends all while getting an education. I heard sorority parties is where its at but my ego would not allow me to join one . Could I start one perhaps ? Or I was thinking about throwing a party every saturday at an apartment that I would rent

There is a film studies program. I don't know it's reputation or anything, but here's a link to the website: http://www.ncsu.edu/chass/film/

If you're a guy, you would be joining a fraternity, not a sorority. But would mix with the sororities. Not sure if that was a typo or whatever. Try not to get your ego get in the way of making friends. If you're interested, go through rush and see if you feel like you fit in to any of the groups that already exist. I imagine there could be a way to charter a new frat, but that would probably be a long process. There are a lot of other clubs and organizations on campus that you could join as well.

sweet thank you so much . Ill going to check this out ill brb

While studying at ASU is so much fun, its VERY expensive. I'd say take your generals at a community college in the area you want to live.

Well, my friend if you want sunshine and girls, ASU definitely has quality and quantity going for it. Campus life will give you plenty of opportunities to meet new people, and fosters better study groups ;)

There are better ways to meet girls than by making your parents pay college tuition. If you don't know what you want to study then you should stay at home and take classes at the community college.

Well it depends on the type of "dating" you want. Colleges are typically better if you want a long committed relationship. But if you want just hook ups go to a university. For at least three year that is how the university dating life will be. But there are few exceptions for people like me whom is planning to get married once and only once and save myself till marriage, so it all depends on the school size and the girl.

really now ? I would think it was the other way around lol . I respect what you said also you sound like a real sweetheart : ) its just too bad I cant ever find myself meeting girls like yourself..

Never say never anything is possible ;) I'm sure you'll succeed in whatever you do just make sure it is the right choice for not only your social life but your academic inspirations as well. And thank you!

are all girls in Missouri as nice as you ? cause I know a girl who lives there and she is an absolute honey. Would you mind helping me say look for courses to take for filmmaking , I have a broad imagination and need to utilze this. No rush what soever and your totally not obliged to do so either

Well I'm sure most of them are ,but as always there will be a few exceptions. Are you out of state? Because you don't sound like all the jerks I have met, you are very sweet. I wouldn't mind considering taking classes in filmmaking.Im a journalism major in their honors college so maybe some originality would help me in my future broadcasts. But seriously you are a real sweetheart and don't change;kindness will take you a long way!

aw thanks you so much ! yes I am out of state atm, so im taking it guys are jerks there huh ? dont worry guys are pretty immature all around except for a few exceptions of course. Journalism thats something I can def. relate too and would not mind travelling to chase my dream in order to bring it all together. thanks for taking the time out and talking to me I'm Johnni btw : ) whats your name ?

Oh no problem! I love meeting new people that I could potentially be going to college with. My name is Hillary by the way, I hope I was of any help to you for you previous question. I'm sure you'll succeed in whatever you set your mind to; just remember to take it to the limit in everything you do, don't do what's popular do what is fun. Once you start to use the fuel to set you passions in motion there is nothing you can't do. I have a feeling you'll go far and hope to meet you one day!

Yes so much just your motivation is amazing ! Thanks . I am definitely going all in on this one . I'm hoping for the best . Do you have any social utility so we can keep in touch : )

Well since I live in a rural city(town) basically everyone knows everyone who lives next door. Therefore with that said I personally had no need for a Facebook, twitter, or Skype. But sending an email to me is the best way to contact me long distance(hillarychaisson@ymail.com)-keep in touch if you need any more pep talk ;)

Personally, I believe that universities are better as far as dating because there are more people. This means you will meet many different people and have a wide variety of students in your classes.

thanks makes total sense
