What Makes My School Unique – I like my school and will choose it again if i have to. The diversity it encourages is great. And having several campuses around town to serve students needs and reduce distances travelled each day for students, from home to school and back.

The financial aid office at lone star college is incredible, from the day i attended new student orientation during which the financial aid manager spoke to the new students and encouraged everybody to apply for financial aid. The office followed up with workshops and trying to help each student through the application process. The office was only a phone call away applicants to find out the status of their application.In short, the entire process was made easy and simple.

The student body at lone star college system is very instrumental in the achievements already attained relating to diversity in the school. Virtually every race is represented in almost an equally proportional rate (white, black, hispanic and asians) and bits of every ethnicity within these races. The level of acceptance is very remarkable, allows students of different ethnicities to socialise and mingle with other students and faculty members. Respect through out the school is simply reciprocal and goes beyond campus.

The Need for a Personal Computer – Personal computer is a necessity in college life. Many of the classes are hybid: meaning half is done online and the other half in person. Not having a personal computer would result in the student's reliance on campus computers which may not readily be availble to the student at the particular time and place it is needed.

The lonestar college system has partnered with the local county library(harris county),this is a very good venture as it broadens students ability to effectively carry out researches. Having access to all of the county library's books and electronic media allows students more tools at their disposal and also reduce the possibilty of having the school library over-crowded.
