Some people...
Okay I've read a couple reviews on here that are completely ridiculous and not accurate in the slightest. Yes, people were put into triples and the year started off with 4 people in the lounges, but almost ALL of the lounges are clear now in Campion; they were actually cleared out in mid-October. Second, people are actually choosing to stay in the triples because they became such good friends with their roommates.
Third, the food here is AMAZING. Almost every single station is made fresh for you. "Lukewarm cafeteria food" is the furthest thing from accurate. Go to UW; there you can eat some lukewarm cafeteria food.
Fourth, whoever complains about the weather is an idiot. You know its Seattle, you know its rainy and cloudy here alot, yet you still chose to go here and now won't shut up about it. ITS NOT GONNA CHANGE. So stop whining please.
Fifth, there are definitely parties here if you want them. UW is also a 5 minute bus ride away if you want the Greek parties too...
RA's are not that strict on my floor, and we have had a drink or two in our rooms before. Its a misconception if you think there is absolutely no drinking in SU's dorms. There's also ample weed (both regular and baked products) if you just know the right people.
I got an on-campus job during the summer and its worked out just fine. Its non work-study, so don't think its impossible to get a non work-study on-campus job here. You just have to utilize the resources around you.
Academics are excellent and you will always be pushed here. I've only had one bad professor so far.
Only negative thing here is the lack of school spirit. People generally don't care about how well our sports teams do; we mostly get excited when we get to play bigger teams, like UW or OSU.
I guess I just get upset when people complain about things that aren't true here at SU. If you want a close-knit commmunity, friends for life, awesome food, challenging/eye-opening classes, and a vibrant area to live in, then SU is for you.
