Good Variety of Foods
I think the campus does a great job of balancing the needs of the students. There are normal chains to eat at on and near campus, and several that are vegetarian friendly. They have composting set up, which I appreciate. The best place to eat on campus would be Holy Cow, a local vegetarian food place that is really tasty.

Some Good Housing, but You Have to Look Around for It.
The housing around the campus is plentiful and easy to find a place if you have the cash. There are a couple companies that rent out most of the property in town, but they overcharge on rent and lock you into long-term contracts. The better deals are to find houses willing to rent out to college students. Or even better, there are student co-ops run and operated by students. It is extremely cheap and a great environment to be in.

Average College Students
There is a very diverse crowd at UoO. There are tons of environmental activists, hippies, fratboys, college nerds, sport stars and just normal college kids. Most kids dress in normal attire, but the hippy element dresses in more anti-consumption attire made at home. The main social glue here is drinking. There are a lot of bars, microbreweries and weekend parties here.
