Good Housing Options
Housing at Beloit is good, the rooms are clean and nice for the most part, and it isn't hard to get a single. The 64 Halls can feel slightly cavernous, but are fine apart from Peet, the worst dorm on campus. Aldrich is often considered the best because it is the newest dorm, but it can have a slightly hotel-like feel. Wood is a great option for upperclassmen.

Basically a Non-Option
Off-campus housing is pretty much impossible, and hardly any students do it. Affordable housing would only be in a neighborhood unsafe for students, and decent housing is too far from campus and too expensive.

A Mixed Bag
Beloit is a great school for many reasons, but also can be very difficult. The diversity of the student body is wonderful, the classes are great, and the opportunities to study abroad and receive grant funding are excellent. The social scene, though, can be very bad because the school is so small. It is very cliquey, and gossip travels fast. Sometimes it seems like students enjoy most talking about others, even spreading malicious rumors and lies. Since the town of Beloit is so small and isolated, it is almost impossible to get away for some breathing time. The "Beloit Bubble" is very real and can be a good thing for students who always enjoy being on campus, doing only campus activities, and seeing the same people day in and day out, but it can be suffocating for students who feel otherwise.
