Oakland
The neighborhood of Oakland in the city of Pittsburgh couldn't get much better. We are in a city, but close to the 4th largest inner city park on the east coast. Tons of college students are in the area. Safe, campus police are always around. We get into a lot of musuems/cultural events for free with our ID. Pitt students are favored among Pittsburgh employers. As for sports, they don't call us the city of champions for nothing

Large Range
Pitt is a medium-large school with a lot of majors. And the majors have a large range. With my major, I have had an excellent experience with professors, curriculum, registering, etc. the Cathedral of Learning is great to study in, lots of space. the Library, Hillman, is sometimes called Club Hillman--easy to get distracted. lots of people. but there are about 15 libraries on campus and the dorms also have lounges. also, you can find university tutoring for free

Easy to Find
I've had an internship that I did for credit instead of taking another class. I was there about 10 hours a week and earned 3 credits. they are very wide ranging though. you could do one for 3 hours a week or 40 if you wanted. any major has internship opp at Pitt. if you find it on your own, its very easy to get academic credit. you fill out one paper and meet with an advisor.
