Off-Campus Dining at University of California - Irvine

A

Sutha Thai Kitchen

This quaint little restaurant is located in Tustin and serves very delicious Thai food. One of the best dishes to recommend is the Pad Woon Sen. It has a lot of flavor and is a good sized portion for an individual. The Tum Yum soup here is also an excellent dish to try out. The price is reasonable for a good Thai restaurant, not overpriced, and the quality is very good. The woman who serves is a very polite and nice Thai woman who I assume to be co-owner.

Local Atmosphere at University of California - Irvine

B-

City of Irvine

Irvine is a fairly small city so there really isn't much to do. If one wanted to really enjoy themselves in the OC, it would be best to go to places like Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, or even Westminster for the cheap food. However, there is a beach that is about 10 minutes away from the campus. There are also good restaurants within reasonable driving distance. The only downside is that places close fairly early, so if one were to be looking for late night snacks or something to do, there will be very very few things open.

Nightlife at University of California - Irvine

C

Underage Nightlife

If you're underage, I assure you, there isn't much to do. Granted there are some 18 and over clubs, however some are located about an hour away. Most of the clubs around here are 21 and over. The best things to do is probably go to the beach or hang out with friends at a local restaurant or fast food job that is open late like Jack in the Box.
