Birmingham: a Melting Pot
Birmingham, Al is pretty much a melting pot with all the people and food options. I live on campus and do not have a car, but when I do decide to go off campus there are always plenty of options to choose from whether it be Mexican food to Italian food. The only downside is that you have to pay for parking in the meters, and you have to know how to parallel park because the school is in a city. But, once you are on campus, it is really relaxed and calm. Unless you are at Fraternity Row of course.

BSC Supports Athletes, but Not With Scholarships
At BSC, athletes do not get athletic scholarships. However, there are a lot of talented student-athletes anyway. It is a small campus, so the sports are popular to attend and lots of fun since you know many people. Our football team just got started back up, and the marching band gets money for participating. Also, the recently resigned head coach for volleyball from the University of Alabama is the volleyball coach here, which is a plus. There is definitely school spirit here. I am not an athlete, but the facilities that students can use are decent. Not state of the art, but good enough to get a good work out.

Pay Them a Visit.
BSC gives guaranteed merit scholarships, so everyone can receive aid. But, since it is a private institution, it doesn't help much, it's still nice to have though. Talk to your recruiting advisor. They might can find you extra money somewhere. Also, don't be afraid to call the financial aide office or pay them a visit (no pun intended). They will help. Also, make sure you stay on top of everything, paperwork can be lost. Get your forms in on time, especially if it concerns scholarships.
