Small Town
Claremont is bascially a small, upper middle class neighborhood. The village is nice and has a few cool options but is often too pricey for students on a budget. The distance from Scripps isn't too far, but there is practically no public transportation. You can always take the metro straight into LA though!

Beautiful
Scripps has one of the most beautiful campuses out there. The new gym and pool facilities are amazing, the dorms are generally very nice and the campus itself has really amzing landscaping. Everywhere you look there are small, pretty courtyards, walled gardens, fountains and flowers. The library is shared with the other Claremont colleges, and is very good.

75 and Sunny
It can be a little hot during September, especially if you don't have air-conditioning but the weather is usually great. It's warm and sunny for the majority of the year. When it does rain, the entire campus becomes a huge puddle because of the lame drainage.

Good Enough
There are several computers available in every dorm, as well as a main computer lab. During the year you'll generally have no problems with getting one, but around finals it can get a little crowded.

Diverse
The drug scene is pretty low-key, but if you're looking for something you'll likely be able to find it. Alcohol and weed are by far the most common and accepted drugs. It might take a little digging, but with the other campuses nearby you can get a hold of pretty much anything. I've never personally felt pressured, and get the feeling that everyone's pretty content to do their own thing.

Generous
Scripps costs a lot of money, there's no denying it. However, I feel like their aid packages definitely puts them within reach for a lot of students. I'm satisfied with my aid - yeah it could have been larger but then that money wouldn't have gone to someone for whom it makes the difference between attendance and not.
