Off-Campus Dining at College of Wooster

C+

Off Campus Dining in Wooster

Wooster has a good local scene for off-campus dining, although it is not very accessible (especially in the winter time) unless you have a car. There are vegetarian and organic options, especially at the Local Roots food market and cafe. The pricing is generally what you would expect from a restaurant or cafe, although my personal favorite breakfast place, the Parlor, is very cheap and delicious to boot. There are a few fast food places within walking distance, and more chain restaurants (i.e. Starbucks, Panera Bread, Chipotle, etc.) in the uptown area, which is only accessible by car or taxi.

Drug Safety at College of Wooster

B

Drug Safety

The College of Wooster is a very accepting and peer-pressure free environment. The security members are understanding of freshman students and underage drinkers, especially in the college atmosphere, and the Wellness Center is open to students who are in need of medical attention for alcohol poisoning or other drug related illnesses. Alcohol visibility is very low - most students keep these kinds of activities and parties private so that students are safe and aren't likely to get into trouble. Drinking is a rather popular activity on campus, however.

Inside Scoop at College of Wooster

Academics Are Excellent

I love the academics at Wooster. My advisers are all extremely encouraging as far as research opportunities and independent study are concerned. Furthermore, the professors are understanding of the amount of commitments college students have and are willing to work with you, within reason, as far as assignments and attendance go. I love being able to meet one on one with my professors and I feel that the personal relationship aspect of the academics here is quite unique. Being at Wooster allows hands on experience and an abundance of opportunities to learn and get involved. It is rather challenging, but I enjoy the academics regardless.
