Lots to Choose from – There is an abundance of corn fed midwestern boys on campus. On average, I would say the student population is pretty good looking, and looking for a good time.

Minnesota State University Diversity was reviewed by kcjean

Being a university in southern Minnesota, the majority of the student poulation are white students from the midwest. But diversity isn't lacking on campus, there are students of all races, ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles. The faculty is diverse as well. MSU has many student organizations celebrating diversity and strives to educate the student body about different cultures, beliefs and lifestyles.

Minnesota State University Health & Safety was reviewed by kcjean

The university is quick to inform students of any situations that may affect student safety. They offer alerts by email or text message, and follow up with information concerning the events. Campus security is available to escort students to their vehicles after hours if the student chooses.

Minnesota State University Overall Experience was reviewed by kcjean
A-

I Love It. I live 90 miles from campus, and I commute 2 days a week. I have lived off campus, in Mankato also. I couldn't bring myself to transfer, even with the long commute, because I love the school. There is always something going on, there are tons of opportunities to participate in clubs and other activities, and the people are great.

Minnesota State University Drug Safety was reviewed by kcjean

Drinking Is Popular – I'm not too sure about the drug scene at MSU. Though, I do know that alcohol use is a popular activity. MSU-Mankato has long had a reputation for a party college. The school has been cracking down on underage alcohol use in the recent years. Students suffer consequences for underage drinking tickets they get while in Mankato.

Go MAVS! School spirit is abundant at MSU-Mankato. The athletic facilities are great, and there is a large selection of IM sports too.

Minnesota State University Nightlife was reviewed by kcjean

Not Too Familiar With It – I commute to school, so I am not too familiar with the nightlife around town, but I have had some experience with it. There are plenty of bars around town for the over 21 crowd, and theres always a party somewhere. The school is cracking down on drinking, and there are consequences for students who get underage drinking tickets.

Minnesota State University Campus Dining was reviewed by kcjean
B

I live off campus, so the only dining I do while on campus is in the Student Union. The food is pretty good, currently there is Taco Bell, Chick-fil-a, a sandwich shop, a coffee house, burgers and a rotating selection of other meals. There are also snacks, pastries, salads, and cold sandwiches available, and they recently added sushi-which I haven't tried yet, but am very happy with the addition. The prices are higher than I'd like, but aren't totally unreasonable.
