Off Campus Dining Hofstra
There are only a few places very close by to eat: McDonalds, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts and Popeyes. The prices are good, as fast food generally is, and some offer a student discount if you show a Hofstra ID. For those who have a car it is beneficial to drive a few minutes to Roosevelt Field Mall. The mall itself has a giant food court and there's a wide variety of restaurants around it: Olive Garden, Red Robin, TGI Fridays, Ruby Tuesdays.

Bars Not House Parties
The nightlife is alright. The bars are definitely the way to go. The house parties get broken up nearly every time. It's not worth the hassle, or the 5 bucks, to go. Dizzy's is 18+ and drinks are served to everyone. That's certainly the place to go. Mchebes is also right down the road, but they are 19+.

Bus/ Nearby Trains
Hofstra is really close to both the Mineola and Hempstead train stations and Hofstra provides a bus that can transport students to and from the stations. Unfortunately the Hofstra Bus isn't very reliable. They don't always run on the schedule posted online so be careful.

Not Incredibly Attractive
The guys at Hofstra are not incredibly attractive. Most of them are average looking guys. Another downfall is that many of them are smokers.

Great Parking
There are a lot of parking lots on campus. I never have to worry about finding a spot. Plus, anyone can have a car on campus, no charge. All you have to do is register it at Public Safety.
