Place for Anyone!
The University of Georgia provides multiple options for students to live in while attending school, but not living on campus. They have apartments available downtown and even student community houses for example Aspen Heights. We constantly receive emails on information through our UGA email account, and they are often useful. They are affordable and there are free transits, for anyone with a UGA ID, and can be escorted all over Athens.

There, but Discrete.
The topic of drugs with UGA is prevalent, however not publicized or pressured upon others. The security not just on campus but in all of Athens will take action if there is suspicion. Therefore those who do associate with drugs are often very secretive about the topic. Drinking on the other hand is widely used and known throughout UGA, but again if caught the police and the university show no mercy. Alcohol since more prevalent is peer pressured, especially in Greek Life, but individuals tend to respect one's decision to partake or not.

Busses Are Magnificent.
There are a plethora of busses available on campus to get to class at a reasonable time without any cost. Even if one lives off campus the transit is free as long as the student has their UGA ID with them. The University has done a great job in creating transportation for students in all different living situations within Athens. The only issue is waiting for them and its not at personal convenience than a car would be but it is free.
