Off Campus Housing
I have not dealt with off campus housing myself but I always see lots of flyers for events designed specifically for off campus students to make the change easier for them and get them involved on campus which I think is really cool. Also, the discount on Charlie Cards rocks.

Riding the T
Because you're in the city, you will have to learn how to ride the T. More specifically the Green Line. It's way easier than the New York Subway and it will become your best friend. Cabs are expensive and driving is usually not an option so if you can't take the T, plan on walking. We walk everywhere. But we don't mind it, most everything you need is in walking distance and you have the beauty of the common right infront of you for encouragement.

Financial Aid Headaches
From my experience, anything involving the specificity of finance is annoying, prying and takes forever. This was how my financial aid process felt. I was happy with the package I got (but the increase this year is making me run for scholarships) but it made me think that maybe any financial aid process seems inefficient only because it's a pain in the ass.
