Little Discrimination
Although San Diego State University's freshman class is composed mostly of caucasian individuals, this does not mean that there is a lack of acceptance of minority groups. In my experience, everyone is friends with everyone and there is little discrimination, especially in the dorms and classes. In the same sense as ethnic diversity, there is little discrimination regarding economic background and religion. However, there is a bit of discrimination against the few gay people that attend the school. Concerning political beliefs, no one ever seems to express them.

Excellent School Spirit
The fan community of the athletic teams at San Diego State are very loyal. The football games are filled with school spirit - people who have painted their faces or bodies, banners, cheering, etc. I have not had a chance to go to a basketball game because they have been completely sold out and that should tell you something. The basketball team is very good, especially considering how far they got in the tournament last year.

I Hate Parking
Parking on campus is probably my least favorite topic to discuss about San Diego State. I have a parking permit so that I could go home every few weekends and it cost me $213 a semester. And even though I actually have a parking permit, it is often still a complete nightmare trying to find parking when I come back from a weekend at home.
