Dining Option
The food at Juniata is not one of the school's best features, but it certainly is not worth transferring over. The two main dining areas, Baker and Eagle's Landing (commonly called "Muddy"), have several options available during each meal. The food service company, Sodexo, is excellent at providing gluten-free or vegetarian/vegan options for those who need it. If you ever get sick of Baker or Muddy, you can go to Jitter's cafe, or buy your own food at one of the several grocery stores within walking distance.

History Majors
The history program at Juniata is definitely under-advertised. It deserves a lot more attention! The classes are challenging and informative, even at the 100 level. While some professors are better than others, I really do like the majority of them, and I feel as though I could easily chat with them outside of class. I learned more in my freshman history classes than I did in all of my history classes from high school combined. I really am proud to be a Juniata history major.

Safety
I truly believe there is no place safer than Juniata. There are campus police on patrol on the weekends, and I assume they are pretty bored. I had a friend park her bike outside during class without a lock, and I suggested that she lock it, but she decided not to. When we got out of class her bike had been moved...into the building. It had begun to rain and apparently someone decided to move her bike inside for her. It's really a very trustworthy community.

Drinking and Drugs at Juniata
It always seems like everybody is drunk on the weekends, but I think that's because those who are sober are less obnoxious, so you don't notice them as much. People definitely party and drink quite a bit, but almost never during the week. It's a lot harder to find people who smoke, but they are certainly out there. Security often gives those caught drinking underage nothing more than a slap on the wrist, but they are much harder on anyone caught smoking. I've never heard of anyone doing anything more serious than marijuana, though.

Weather at Juniata
Juniata is in central Pennsylvania, so we experience typical northeast seasons. It gets very hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. I grew up in Pennsylvania, so I never minded it, but I have heard some students complain. Just be prepared if you're not used to Pennsylvania weather.

Facilities at Juniata
Some of the facilities are a bit old, but some are quite new. The best are without a doubt the Von Leibig Center for Science and the Susan Von Leibig Theater. Founders Hall is also a very nice building, though it is the oldest on campus. The very worst is the Brumbaugh Academic Center, where many science, math, and technology classes are held, but even this is in pretty good shape. My biggest complaint is that most of the dorms aren't air conditioned, but overall they are alright.

Diversity at Juniata
Juniata has an ill-fitting bad reputation as far as diversity goes. Everyone's always going on about how little diversity there is, but they have been working very hard to improve that over the past several years, and I think the effort is apparent. There certainly are more white, straight, Protestant students than there is anyone else, but there are others who don't fit into that group as well as resources for anyone who might feel like they don't belong, for whatever reason.
