Health & Safety at University of California - Irvine

A-

Extremely Safe

The campus itself is located in Irvine which is a very well off area and everyone is quite well off. The police here respond quickly and almost in an over-exaggerated fashion to any crime that happens around here. There are a few homeless people but they are rare and scattered and honestly, if no one bothers them, they will not bother you. I have never felt unsafe walking anywhere at night on campus.

Campus Dining at University of California - Irvine

B-

Not Too Bad

The dining commons have relatively good food. However, besides the delicious grill area where they serve hamburgers and fries, the others are a rather hit-or-miss. Occasionally, you'll get great food such as grilled chicken breast that is absolutely delectable. However, sometimes they serve really odd tasting and disgusting food that seems like they threw all the leftovers in a pot and picked a spice off the spice rack randomly. There are always the stores in the student center to fall back on such as Wendy's and Panda Express which are absolutely delicious.

Scholarships at University of California - Irvine

C-

Barely Any Scholarships Were Given

A lot of people go into Irvine with very minimal scholarships or none and the people who actually got a lot of scholarships don't actually need it. The price range for Irvine is situated at the spot where if you are in the middle class range and your parents are saving up for retirement, then you won't get any scholarships at all. Many scholarships require you to have a high GPA which if you did, then you'll probably end up at a better school. However, the best tip I can give is to keep the GPA high so that you can actually receive scholarships.
