Meh
Muncie is a small town with not a whole lot to do, but it is great nonetheless. The mall has many shops that cater to college age students. Ball state students are appreciated as part of the Muncie community and receive free transportation on the MITS buses that travel all over the town.

I LOVED Living on Campus!
I lived on campus for three years and it was wonderful. Most of the dorms are very nice and there has been a newly built or remodeled dorm every year that I have been enrolled, so most are in great shape. Dehority, Park, and Kinghorn are the best in my opinion. Housing is pretty reasonably priced and every dorm has access to a computer lab with free printing, study rooms, rec rooms, and workout rooms. There are many options for food and many different meal plans, so you'll never go hungry. I've had extra meal money to use up at the end of every semester.

Boo Parking
If you try to park anywhere without a parking pass or paying a meter you're definitely going to get a ticket. For sure. However, there are two parking garages on campus where you can either pay to park ($1/ hour or $5/day) or get a parking pass and there are also numerous lots. It can take a while to find a spot though. Prices for parking passes aren't bad, but you might not get the lot you want initially (you'll be put on a waiting list).

Ball State students receive GREAT transportation for FREE!
As a student at Ball State it's very easy to get around. First off, the school isn't huge so walking the length of campus isn't bad, but if you don't want to walk you can just hop on one of the free Ball State buses. They run before and after class hours during the week and part of Saturday and Sunday. If you're looking to go somewhere off campus you can get there via one of the MITS buses. They travel all over Muncie, stop a few places on campus, and are free to all Ball State students. Finally, if you just need a ride (usually at night), you can call Charley's Charter and get a free ride anywhere on campus.
