Emerson College: Life in the Big City

Emerson has one of the best locations a college can have. It might not have an actual campus with a quad, but the Boston Common is pretty much the same thing. There is plenty to do and lots to see. The Esplanade is beautiful, as wells as the view from the Harvard bridge. Emerson is right next to 3 of the major subway (T) stops, so getting around is very easy. There are many other colleges in the area, so the majority of the city is comprised of college students.

Health & Safety at Emerson College

B+

Very Safe, as Long as You're Smart

Since Emerson lacks much of a campus, we do not have that many safety issues. As long as you are not walking by yourself late at night in the Common's you're fine.

Campus Housing at Emerson College

Dorm Life

Emerson has 4 different dorms. The Little Building houses mostly freshman in typical college dorm room doubles with communal floor bathrooms. There are also some triples and singles, as wells as suites with a common room and a bathroom. The building is much older and dirtier than the others, but if you love being social, the LB is perfect. Piano Row contains suites with a kitchenette, common room, bathroom, and 2 or 3 double occupancy rooms. It is not as social as the Little Building, but the rooms are 10000 times nicer. Colonial is mostly upperclassmen and is mostly singles with a few doubles in a suite style with a common bathroom. The don't have common rooms in the suite, but the floor common rooms are very nice. Many people compare colonial to a hotel. The rooms are much bigger than the other dorms, and in my opinion the best. Colonial's atmosphere is much more secluded and you probably won't know most people on your floor. Paramount is the last dorm and it is 2 blocks away from the main campus. The dorms are doubles. Some are in suites an others are stand alones. The biggest downside to Paramount is some of the windows are very very small and you have to walk farther to get to class.

Athletics at Emerson College

Athletics? What Athletics?

We are a division 3 school, so no one comes to Emerson to play sports...unless that sport is Quidditch. We are currently number 4 in the world! But varsity sports are pretty much non-existant.
