Norfolk.
Old Dominion is located right on the water. From dorms you can see sail boats and amazing sunsets, it is only 20 min from the beach. However, because it is so close to the water, Norfolk does tend to flood very easily. There are at least 5 museums in a 20 mile radius and it is only a short car ride away to the Historic Triangle where America was founded. ODU just got a football team and all of the locals are really into school spirit right now. The surronding business offer student discounts and are always present for games and parades.

On Campus Fun
The bars on campus are always looking to cater to the students. They offer cheap drinks and a friendly atmosphere. Clubs are more for the tourits that come in the summer so I would skip those and head to the houses around campus if you're under 21.

Cash Cow Parking
You don't really need a car on campus if you are living in a dorm. If you are in an apartment then you are going to need a car to go to the grocery store and get back to your house at night. Parking permits are expenise and tickets are too. ODU makes a lot of money on parking violations, and they will ticket. Spaces aren't too terrible to come by if you live on campus, but commuters need to time their classes right if they want a good space.
